We are writing to provide you with an update on our ongoing works in the area. December marked a significant milestone for the development as we began the 8m-deep tunnelling operations to divert the existing DCWW stormwater drainage that runs along Schooner Way. This work involves tunnelling approximately 150 meters in two directions and connecting to the existing 1125mm-diameter sewer through the installation of three new 2.4m-diameter chambers.
Progress Update
Locations C and D
The over-pumping system that diverts water from Location C to Location D has been installed and is actively managing water flow while we carry out alterations to the drainage system.
Locations B and E
Both the delivery and setup of the micro-tunnelling equipment were completed at the end of November. The first tunnelling drive from SD2 to SD1 (B to E) is underway and expected to be completed by the end of this year. The second drive from SD2 to SD3 (B to F), including the formation of the new SD1, SD2, and SD3 manholes, will commence in the New Year.
In addition, the SD1 reception pit is now complete and ready for the recovery of the micro-tunnelling machine ahead of the year end.
Location F
The removal of the former SD3 manhole is nearly finished, clearing the path for tunnelling operations from SD2 to SD3 in the New Year and the SD3 reception pit is expected to be ready by the end of the year, in preparation for recovering the micro-tunnelling machine on completion of the tunnelling works.
Completion Timeline:
We anticipate completing all the stormwater sewer diversion works by mid-March 2025.
