The arena bowl: shaped for the future
The proposed design – a single tier arena to intensify the atmosphere for spectators and performers – means it will be quite like no other. Seating and floor space can adapt to audience sizes anywhere between 3,500 and 15,000, and a variety of events from sports to family shows as well as live music and entertainment.
With world-class acoustics, fans and performers will be guaranteed the ultimate sound experience while noise levels are reduced to maintain a peaceful environment outside the arena. The design takes in key considerations including protecting sunlight and privacy for neighbouring properties, and maximising use of solar energy among other sustainability measures.
The new arena is significant in continuing the development of Cardiff as a major music city, as well as supporting local and homegrown talent.
