In the year ahead we’ll work with local community groups to fully understand how this project can support local residents and businesses. Working this way ensures we target our support to the initiatives and activities that will really make a difference on your doorstep.
We will look at how we can make sure that the jobs on offer go to those who live in nearby communities, and we’ll make sure that the spaces and places created are designed for those who live in and around Butetown as well as visitors from elsewhere. We will also look to support the development of talent within the area, from schoolchildren to local businesses, we want the productions of the future to reflect our communities. The development will also seek to build on the Bay’s assets, its history, and its communities, and ensure that it is seen as part of Butetown, not an add on.
