Cardiff Arena Enabling Works – Ffordd Garthorne Works

As part of the ongoing development of the new Arena, we would like to inform you about upcoming telematics enabling works scheduled to take place on Ffordd Garthorne. These works are a vital part of the commitment to delivering modern, efficient infrastructure to support the new Arena and surrounding community.

What’s Happening

These works will involve the excavation of sections of Ffordd Garthorne and the installation of advanced telematics systems, which include intelligent traffic
management technology to help improve road safety, ease congestion, and support sustainable transport options both around the Arena area, and across the wider City.

When

The proposed works are planned to start in late April and are expected to be completed within 2 weeks, subject to weather and operational conditions.

What to Expect

Temporary traffic management – will be in place during the excavation of the duct routes within Ffordd Garthorne to ensure the safety of the workforce,
pedestrians and road users. The traffic management will be phased (areas will not be undertaken at the same time) to minimise impact and ensure access and
egress is maintained at all times. We aim to minimise disruption as much as possible and will ensure access to homes and car parking areas are maintained throughout the works. Work hours will typically be between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

We appreciate that at times these necessary activities may cause some disruption to daily activities or set routines, and we appreciate your understanding whilst they are completed. Regardless of which, if you have any concerns or comments please do not hesitate to contact Provectus on 01902 936165 or via email at
